Novel Development Programme

Our six-month, one-to-one programme is designed to take a novel from an initial idea to a finished draft. We break the process into three distinct stages — pre-writing, writing and rewriting — providing the structure, guidance and accountability needed to keep moving forward.

We begin with an in-depth kick-off session to explore the foundations of the story, from characters and plot to the wider vision for the book. From there, we develop a realistic writing plan, with regular check-ins and word-count milestones to maintain momentum and work towards a completed manuscript.

Once the first draft is complete, the focus shifts to rewriting and refining the work, with optional editorial services available for writers who want additional support. The programme also includes an introduction to the publishing industry, covering traditional and independent publishing and helping writers understand the options available once the manuscript is ready.

Our bespoke consultations are one-to-one sessions shaped around you, your work and the questions you want to explore. Bring us whatever you’re working through and we’ll offer practical guidance and clear next steps.

Sessions can cover everything from non-fiction book proposal development and editorial support, to publishing strategy and audience development. Whether the focus is developing an idea, strengthening a manuscript, or building an audience around the work, each session is designed to meet the project where it is.
